When you click on the Create Certificate button the following dialog is displayed. This dialog has controls that allow you to create a self-signed certificate that can be used as a client-side certificate in a secure SSL connection. All the fields must be completed in order to create a certificate.
The certificate created is known as a “self-signed certificate”. If the FTP site you are connecting to requires a certificate signed by a trusted authority (i.e., Verisign) this is a separate step and is not documented here. Contact the FTP site administrator, or other responsible resource, for information on how to convert a self-signed certificate created by Robo-FTP into a trusted, signed certificate.
