Manage Sites: Key/Cert Authentication

Top  Previous  Next

Some secure sites require a client-side SSH key or SSL certificate. Although Robo-FTP also allows you to define a common default client-side SSH key and a common default client-side SSL certificate to authenticate for all secure sites, this page discusses the technique for specifying a specific client key or certificate to be used with a specific secure managed site.

Connections Secured with SSH

If you are configuring a managed site with an SFTP connection that requires a specific client key, put a mark in the SSH Key Auth checkbox and then click the Key/Cert Authentication button to select the file containing the private SSH key to be used with this managed site:

ChooseSSH

You can also use this interface to generate a new SSH key pair.  The process is exactly the same as generating a default key pair.

Connections Secured with SSL

If you are configuring a managed site with an FTPS or HTTPS connection that requires a specific client certificate, put a mark in the SSL Client Cert checkbox and then click the Key/Cert Authentication button to select the client certificate and private encryption key to be used with this managed site:

ChooseCert
